PortalModules™: The Building Blocks
PortalModules are the fundamental building blocks of the ReadyPortal platform. A grouping of PortalModules composes a web page and a hierarchy of web pages composes the overall portal.
A web page can be a single portal module featuring static content or an extensive series of portal modules that present an engaging mix of content, community and commerce applications. In addition to featuring the ReadyPortal Application suite, PortalModules can also feature static or dynamic external applications and data streams.
A virtually unlimited number and type of PortalModules can be added to any page within the portal. These PortalModules can be easily positioned anywhere on a web page, and can be fully customized for size, layout, and look and feel. Additionally, specific PortalModules can easily be set to appear on all pages in a site. This ease of configuration supports the flexible construction of a web destination of virtually any design.
Page Management
The ReadyPortal Solution's intuitive and powerful Page and Management Interface enables the rapid and flexible development of web pages. A simple set of menu options enables the administrator or designated page owner to define the layout of the page, i.e. the number, structure and width of the columns. Within each of the columns, an unlimited number and variety of PortalModules may be deployed. Instead of requiring HTML programming skills to layout the PortalModules on the web page, they can be "added," "cut and pasted," as well as "copied and deleted" with the click of a mouse.
Site Structure Management
The Site Structure Management Interface enables management of the entire web site in a similar manner to the way of PortalModule deployment and management on web pages. The Site Structure Interface provides the administrator visibility and control over the entire page hierarchy that comprises the portal.
A series of tool bars makes it easy to add new pages or re-sequence the entire site hierarchy. An intuitive interface of arrow key controls as well as "cut," "paste," "copy" and "delete" functions with the click of a mouse. Any changes made in the Site Structure Interface are automatically reflected in the overall site hierarchy and site map.
There are no limitations to the breadth and depth of the site hierarchy with the ReadyPortal solution. You can develop a site with as deep and broad a hierarchy as you wish, featuring millions of web pages.
