Controlled Access and Privileges
The ReadyPortal Security Engine allows for a variety of access levels, including lead administrator, administrator, feature/page owner, member and guest. Access levels may be individually set for any range of content, from individual portal modules to large groups of web pages to the entire site. This enables customers to establish unique access levels and security for different content sections of their site.
DKS uses a proprietary mechanism for user login and authentication and SSL connections to ensure the security of passwords and personal data. Internal platform security is enforced by a sophisticated roles and capabilities system, allowing extensive viewing and edit control over individual applications and pages within the site. ReadyPortal offers several single sign on solutions through the use of an XML based API; authentication, member database synchronization and encrypted cookie sharing, are supported allowing the use of an external member database, such as a customer LDAP server. Full internal LDAP support is planned for an upcoming release.
