Pinterest Business Pages & How to Convert

Surrounding the earlier and more-hyped Pinterest days, we wrote a post on tips for businesses looking to reach their target audiences. While those tips still ring true, I couldn’t resist posting about the recently launched businesses pages. Instead of signing up as a “person” businesses can sign up as a business and add in their industry, main contact and more.

How to Convert to a Pinterest Business Account

Better yet, if you have an existing Pinterest account you can easily convert it into a “business page.”

Edit your profile information, agree to the Terms of Service and that’s it!

Two key takeaways

1. Verify your website. You can do this by either uploading a file to your domain or by adding in a meta tag. Very similar to webmaster tools verification methods. Plus, you get a cool little verified logo next to the URL in your Pinterest profile- letting other Pinners know your website is legit.

2. The Pinterest business resource area. If you’re unsure about how to use Pinterest, drive traffic to your website or grow your followers- there’s a lot of good information and case studies as to how other businesses are utilizing this particular medium.

Have you converted your profile yet? Have you found the business resource area to be helpful?
